Meet JT

Q: How's the Sync life treating you?

JT: The sync life is great. As the Product and Engineering Lead, I love bringing both teams together and collaborating. As with any small company, each individual wears multiple hats. Not only have I had the opportunity to help build upon the short and long-term strategies, but I also get to be part of the daily grind -

To me, the greatest responsibility within the role is making sure we stay focused and deliver on what we say so our partners can thrive. It is cliché, but the best part of working here is the culture and the people. I have been fortunate enough in previous roles to work with leaders who knew how important culture is.

As with anything, it's when you don't have something that you learn its value, so it's been great to step into a role with a company who already has a great culture and not have to go without.

Q: What do you enjoy most about being part of the Wise-Sync team?

JT: I couldn't say it enough... the culture and the people are the best part. Knowing that we have the opportunity to shake up our space is always exciting, but the people aspect has definitely been the most rewarding.

The team was/has been beyond welcoming, and I cannot wait until we get to a better place with COVID-19 so that I can get to Australia and meet the team in person.

Q: What makes you passionate about product development and driving the user experience?

JT: I'm going to be cliché again, but first, you have to find a company and product that you believe in. Do you connect with their mission and culture? If you find that, the rest is easy peasy lemon squeezy.

My degree is in Finance, so if I weren't doing this - I would've most likely ended  up in a cubicle staring at numbers all day. This gives me the chance to interact with people and hopefully make their lives just a little bit better. If we do our jobs correctly, our customers/partners can get back to focusing on the parts of their business that they love.

Q: If someone said you could only watch one movie for the rest of your life, what would it be - and why?

JT: How are these types of questions the hardest? There are a lot of really great movies out there that go beyond pure entertainment, like The Emperor's Club. However, if I were to watch it for the rest of my life, it'd likely become background noise after a few viewings. So, I'm leaning towards either Thor: Ragnarok or Deadpool since there's a combination of humor, together with a decent soundtrack... I mean who doesn't get energized when they hear Led Zeppelin screaming Ah-ah, ah!?
