In July, we recognised Melissa Spencer, our Finance and Business Lead (and one of our dedicated Customer Success Managers also) with the #BECIO award as nominated by her peers. Here's what the team had to say...
Q: Congrats, Melissa! You are undoubtedly, a fierce Finance and Business Lead with a bright passion for business growth and customer success that's impossible not to recognise! In accepting this award, what would you personally deem as the most important factors in fulfilling such an important role?
Melissa: I'm so lucky to have the dual role of Customer Success Manager (CSM) and Business and Finance (B&F) Lead here at Wise-Sync. I feel like my ongoing systems' experience with ConnectWise Manage, Xero, Wise-Sync, and Wise-Pay, has immensely helped me to fulfil my CSM role with confidence.
In my dual role, I'm able to bring our day-to-day customer success operations from the Customer Success team through to the B&F team, which phenomenally enhances the view of our business from our customers' perspective. It's being connected to all of our customers, vendors, business advisors, and of course, our amazing Wise-Sync team; that's so important across the various elements of the extremely diversified B&F Lead role, which often ends up being the catch-all role in any business... and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Whether it's receiving messages from the team saying "I wasn't sure who to talk to about this...," or an email from an external source on literally anything Wise-related, no two days are ever the same. It could be a Human Resources (HR) or payroll matter, a request for a new tool to help a staff member excel in their role, a review of a balance sheet, a new contract to be signed for an existing subscription, or even a request for my multifaceted skills now as a travel agent *laughs* (which I don't technically have!). Whatever it might be, the beauty of this role is that each and every day, I'm able to discover new horizons and learn something new, and that's truly rewarding.
